If you have never heard of hair tissue mineral analysis, or you are not sure it is right for you, this page is for you. Take your time, read a little, and reach out with any questions.

What is HTMA?

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a simple, non-invasive lab test that measures the minerals and toxic metals stored in a small sample of your hair. Because hair grows slowly, it gives a picture of your mineral patterns over the past few months rather than a single moment in time.

Minerals like calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc and copper work together. When their ratios are out of balance, it can show up as low energy, poor sleep, stress, digestive trouble, hormone shifts and more. HTMA helps uncover those patterns so your food, supplements and lifestyle can be matched to what your body actually needs. It is an educational screening tool, not medical care.

Where mineral balancing came from

Dr. Paul Eck is considered the pioneer of mineral balancing. Starting in the 1970s, he studied thousands of hair tests and developed a way to read mineral ratios as a picture of how the body produces and uses energy. His work was carried on by Dr. Lawrence Wilson and others, and it is the foundation of the method I use today.

Your free recipe guide

The Root Cause Kitchen is my own free recipe guide, built around the way I eat and coach my clients to eat: steamed and roasted vegetables that are easy to digest, warming soups and bone broth, grass-fed red meat, and pasture-raised eggs and chicken. It includes a pantry list, a batch-cooking plan and a sample week of meals.

New: Nourishing Fall Soups

My free fall soup guide has 8 warming soups built on grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chicken and slow-simmered bone broth, plus a simple formula for building any soup. It’s a recipe collection for inspiration, not a meal plan.
